Consumer Corner This page is dedicated to the consumer of family law resources. While it is generally recommended that professional assistance be obtained because of the complexity of the legal process, gaining some self-awareness of the subject isn't a bad idea. "Family law" is an extremely broad area, encompassing such topics as adoption, dependency, custody, parenting plans, child support, spousal maintenance, community & separate property, attorney's fees, etc. At times, various terms may apply, including "QDRO", "COBRA", "UCCJA", "PKPA," "QMCSO". Added to the mix are the array of laws and rules that control the procedure. The Internet offers excellent opportunities for such self-help, at least to the extent of locating more information and finding available resources. The following directory with links to multiple web sites will hopefully be useful. If you want to recommend a link that should be included or have a comment about this section, please e-mail WFLR On-Line at comments@wflr.com.
